New Deal is a key element of the Government's Welfare to Work strategy. New Deal gives unemployed people opportunities to study, train and gain work experience so that they have the skills employers want. This improves the overall skills of the workforce. New Deal also provides help to employers who are actively seeking to recruit new employees.
Across Leicestershire, New Deal is delivered by a private sector company, Fern Training and Development, in partnership with Job Centre Plus under a contract running until March 2007.
There are specific New Deal schemes for young people, for lone parents, for musicians, for over 25s, for disabled people, for over 50s and for partners.
Nook Corner is an excellent example of how to use this web site, especially if you don't have a dedicated site. Nook Corner is a combined Gift, Gallery and Coffee Shop located in the centre of Anstey in one of the oldest buildings in the village. But it is much more than just a coffee shop; it also a very well stocked gift shop, offering a large and constantly changing range of gifts to suit most occasions.
