Nearly 97% of the businesses in Leicestershire employ less than 50 people so the are vitally important to its economy. However Charnwood is joint lowest district in the County in terms of the percentage of its people who are self-employed.

Networking
Effective networking is key to the success of small businesses. Charnwood is blessed with excellent networking organisations and business clubs to suit all types of business. In particular, both Leicestershire and Loughborough Chambers, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and for technology based companies, LATI are there to help you build up local contacts. There are also business clubs in some of the larger towns & villages such as Syston and Barrow upon Soar.

Nook Corner is a combined Gift, Gallery and Coffee Shop located in the centre of Anstey in one of the oldest buildings in the village. But it is much more than just a coffee shop; it also a very well stocked gift shop, offering a large and constantly changing range of gifts to suit most occasions.
