Business Accommodation for Creative Industries

Are you a Creative Business looking for Accommodation?

  • The following reports were commissioned to assess the demand for specialist workspace for the creative industries in Charnwood and Leicestershire as a whole. Whilst Leicester itself is now well provided and facilities are also being developed in other Districts, Charnwood still lacks such a dedicated workspace despite the fact that LUSAD produces many talented graduates in the creative industries each year who are keen to set up in the area. The Borough Council and the University are aware of the issue and monitor opportunities to create such a site.
  • The Creative Industries in Charnwood (Word Document, 0.35 Mb)
This work was commissioned by Culture East Midlands and undertaken by Burns Owen Partnership. The full report is due to be completed in autumn 2007, but you can download the profile for Charnwood below. These show the changes in numbers of businesses and employment in the creative sector between 2001 and 2005.
  • Research on demand for creative workspace in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
This report demonstrates that there is strong unsatisfied demand from the creative industries for workspace in Loughborough. The Borough Council and its partners are currently seeking to address this.

We would like to hear from any existing or new creative company that is looking for business accommodation / studio space ( The Council is trying to gauge local demand for such space with a view to taking a head lease on a site. This could then be sub-let to small businesses.
